The Charlotte Children’s Choir Youth Chorale

Includes two ensembles: The Bella Voce Singers, comprised of young women in the ninth through twelfth grades, and Cantare, comprised of young men in the eighth through twelfth grades that have experienced, or are experiencing, vocal change.

The Youth Chorale provides serious, mature musical study in a choral setting while continuing to nurture and develop leadership skills among its members.

These young men and women are committed to the art of choral singing and to achieving the highest level of musicianship.  Instruction focuses on advanced vocal techniques as well as performing at an advanced level.

Membership is awarded by audition and is limited.  The Youth Chorale was formed three years ago.  The Youth Chorale toured the Pacific Northwest and Charleston for the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in June 2004, Ireland in 2005, and England in 2007.

Touring experience for choruses is not available through most churches or schools and is a primary component of the Youth Chorale.  An international tour to Italy is in the planning process for 2009.
