All that Jazz!

Charlotte, N.C. April 29^th- The Charlotte Children’s Choir, a nonprofit community organization dedicated to providing quality musical education for area youth, will perform a selection of jazz and other rhythmic pieces for their Spring Concert. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors/students, Saturday April 29^th, 2006 at 7pm at University City United Methodist Church, 3835 West W.T. Harris Blvd. Charlotte, NC. 

 

The Charlotte Children’s Choir consists of eight performing groups (choirs), which include a total of 260 youth (ages 8-18) representing nine different counties around the Charlotte area.  Throughout the year, these groups perform at various venues around the state and the country.

 

Other upcoming concerts include:

• Youth Choral Spring Concert: Tuesday May 2^nd, 7pm at Christ Episcopal Church, Charlotte NC.

• Celebration in Song Choral Arts Festival, June 26-30 and July 24-28.

• Join us as we celebrate 20 years during our Gala Anniversary Event. June 9^th 7pm, Levine Museum of the New South, silent auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, music by Beth Chorneau Trio. Tickets: $25 per person, $40 per couple. Admission free with the purchase of a $100 Raffle Ticket.

About The Charlotte Children’s Choir

 The Charlotte Children’s Choir was founded in 1986.  Since 1991, the choir has been under the direction of Artistic Director Sandy R. Holland and has been recognized for excellence around the world.  The choir has appeared on CBS This Morning and was featured with Judy Collins in the A & E television special, “Judy Collins Christmas at the Biltmore,” and has performed in Carnegie Hall, NYC.  The Charlotte Children’s Choir is supported, in part with a Basic Operating Grant from the Arts and Science Council.
