Workshops for Boys

Boys Only! No Girls Allowed Choral Workshop –Ages 8-12
Boys to Men Choral Workshop - Ages 12-18

These one-day workshops are designed to encourage boys to participate in musical activities and created for young boys and boys with changed and changing voices.

Current male members of the Choir serve as mentors to the boys who participate in the workshop, which focuses on developing performance techniques and allows the boys to learn songs in a non-threatening, all-male environment.  A performance for family and friends serves as the finale of the workshop.

School Tours

School Tour Day during the month of March commemorates North Carolina’s Music Educators   Association and Music Education in North Carolina’s “Music in Our Schools Month”.  The Descant and Treble Choirs visit elementary schools and perform for the student body to increase and encourage music as a vital part of the educational environment of our schools.  This outreach is becoming increasingly important with the cutback of music programs in our schools.

If your school is interested in hosting the Charlotte Children's Choir to celebrate Music in Our School Month please contact Sandy Holland at 704-374-1892 x 24.

A “Celebration in Song” Summer Choral Arts Festival

A “Celebration in Song” summer choral festival and teacher training event is well attended by both singers and teachers, and is endorsed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.  The purpose of the “Celebration in Song” program is to offer an in-depth, yet inexpensive, experience in choral singing for children in the greater Charlotte community.  The camp was founded in 1992 by Sandy Holland, Artistic Director, and continues to serve the greater Charlotte community.  During this week-long camp, daily instruction is offered to the participants in vocal techniques, rehearsal and performance skills, and in the use of various musical instruments.  The festival culminates with a free concert, open to the general public, highlighting the skills the children have learned throughout the week.
