INFORMATION CONTACT: Charlotte Children's Choir Performs on NPR’s “From the Top” December 31, 2006 – The Charlotte Children’s Choir, a nonprofit community organization dedicated to providing quality musical education for area youth, performed recently on National Public Radio’s “From the Top,” a nationally syndicated radio program featuring talented young musicians. The show, taped in November at Central Piedmont Community College’s Halton Theatre, will air on Davidson College’s member-supported public radio service WDAV 89.9 at 5:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Auditions: New members are sought for the winter semester. Call the Choir office at 704- 374-1892, ext. 21 to schedule an audition appointment. About The Charlotte Children’s Choir: The Charlotte Children’s Choir was founded in 1986. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Sandy R. Holland since 1991, the organization has been recognized for excellence around the world. The Choir has appeared on “CBS This Morning,” was featured in the A & E television special, “Judy Collins Christmas at the Biltmore,” and was the featured choir at Carnegie Hall for the 2005 National Children’s Honors Choir. The Charlotte Children's Choir is supported, in part, with a Basic Operating Grant from the Arts & Science Council.
