Charlotte Children’s Choir Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Charlotte, N.C. April __- The Charlotte Children’s Choir, a nonprofit community organization dedicated to providing quality musical education for area youth, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with its first ever gala event on Friday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at the Levine Museum of the New South. Highlights of the evening will include:
Gala tickets are $25 per person, $40 per couple. Admission is free with the purchase of a $100 raffle ticket. Raffle ticket purchasers can buy additional gala tickets for $20. The Charlotte Children’s Choir consists of eight performing groups (choirs), which include a total of 260 youth (ages 8-18) representing nine different counties around the Charlotte area. Throughout the year, these groups perform at various venues around the state and the country. The Charlotte Children’s Choir was founded in 1986. Since 1991, the choir has been under the direction of Artistic Director Sandy Holland and has been recognized for excellence around the world. The choir has appeared on CBS This Morning and was featured with Judy Collins in the A & E television special, “Judy Collins Christmas at the Biltmore,” and has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The Charlotte Children’s Choir is supported in part with a Basic Operating Grant from the Arts and Science Council. ### |
